The City of Mathis marked a significant milestone on Tuesday with the groundbreaking of a new Tractor Supply Company store, a development poised to enhance the local economy and serve the needs of the community.
The ceremony, attended by city officials, community leaders, and representatives from Tractor Supply Company, celebrated the arrival of one of the few national retailers to establish a presence in Mathis in recent years. City Manager Cedric Davis highlighted the importance of this development, noting that it represents a positive step forward for the city’s growth and economic diversification.
Tractor Supply Company, renowned for its range of products catering to agriculture, home improvement, and rural lifestyle, sees the Mathis location as an opportunity to serve the local community effectively. District Manager Kevin Dubose expressed optimism about the venture, stating, “We’re one of the first retailers of our kind to come here to provide these products and services we’re going to have.”
The store is scheduled to open its doors by October 2025, bringing with it new employment opportunities and contributing to the city’s economic vitality.
